Guidance Exchange 2011

Each year Careers Europe, working in partnership with Euroguidance centres and other organisations across Europe, organises a number of placements for guidance counsellors in other countries.

Duration of Placements

Our placements are currently for one week.

Who can apply?

Guidance counsellors, personal advisers and careers teachers working in the UK.  If you are a guidance counsellor working in another EU country please apply through the organiser in your own country.  Details of which countries participate in the programme and contacts can be found on the Academia website.

Where are the placements?

The details of placements for 2011 can be found on the Academia website.

What are the costs?

The placements are funded through the European Commission's Life Long Learning programme.  The funding covers reasonable travel costs and gives a fixed daily rate for subsistence.  This should cover your food and accommodation costs.

What are the criteria for being accepted?

Any applicant must have the support of their employer. Language skills are required for some placements but not all, as some countries organise their placements in English. We also welcome applications from previous unsuccessful applicants.  Priority will be given to applicants from organisations who subscribe to Careers Europe.

How do I apply?

Please download an application pack.  In it you will find a guide for applicants, a guide for the applicants employer, an application form and a sample letter of support.  The deadline for applications is December 3rd. We prefer application forms to be emailed to us.  If you have any problems with the application pack ring us on 01274 829500 or email us at info@careerseurope.co.uk
