Guidance Exchange

Each year Careers Europe, working in partnership with Euroguidance centres and other organisations across Europe, organises a number of placements for guidance counsellors in other countries.

Duration of Placements

Our placements are currently for one week.

Who can apply?

Guidance counsellors, personal advisers and careers teachers.

Where are the placements?

So far this year there are placements on offer in: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway and Slovenia.  We expect more countries to offer placements and we will add these as they become available.

What are the costs?

The placements are funded through the European Commission's Life Long Learning programme.  The funding covers reasonable travel costs and gives a fixed daily rate for subsistence.  This should cover your food and accommodation costs.

What are the criteria for being accepted?

We take applicants who have the support of their employer. Language skills are required for some placements but not all, as some countries organise their placements in English.

How do I apply?

You will need to submit a completed application form plus letter of support from your employer by the 15th November 2009.  You can download the application form, application guidelines, guidelines for your employer and a sample letter of support below:
