Guidance Exchange

Each year Careers Europe, working in partnership with Euroguidance centres and other organisations across Europe, organises a number of placements for guidance counsellors in other countries.

Duration of Placements

Our placements are currently for one week.

Who can apply?

Guidance counsellors, personal advisers and careers teachers.

Where are the placements?

The countries involved can change from year to year but the following countries have hosted placements in the past: Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Romania, Spain and Sweden.

What are the costs?

The placements are funded through the European Commission's Life Long Learning programme.  The funding covers reasonable travel costs and gives a fixed daily rate for subsistence.  This should cover your food and accommodation costs.

What are the criteria for being accepted?

We take applicants who have the support of their employer. Language skills are required for some placements but not all, as some countries organise their placements in English.

How do I apply?

You will need to send a letter of interest - please download the standard letter here.  When we have details of all placements available in 2008 we will then invite you to complete a full application.  Instructions for applying can be downloaded here,  If you have any difficulties downloading these two documents please contact us as below:
