Description
“Integrated action to combat school truancy and child labour.”
The Young Project is a research project co-financed by the European commission within the framework of the Leonardo da vinci programme. It was a three year project spanning from December 2002 to December 2005.
Objective:
The project was designed to create and try out an innovative integrated formula for combating underage employment and school truancy in a European context.
Phases of the project:
The action plan was organised is three steps:
Step 1 Research, analyses and sharing of statistical data
and other important projects on school truancy and child
labour in: France, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Romania and the
UK.
Step 2 Build up a new integrated model for combating school truancy and child labour in Europe.
Step 3 Testing of the model and dissemination of information on the project’s final outcome at national and European level.
Target group:
Practitioners engaged in integrated projects for the promotion of rights and opportunities for young people.
Beneficiaries:
Young people (15-17 year olds) that are at the risk of school truancy and child labour.
