REIM - Reseau Europeen Initiative Metiers

Description

Within the European Union today, there are more than 5 million “craft based” enterprises. Two million of the enterprises have been created within the last 10 years. SMEs and the craft based industries have also created the most jobs within the last decade. The working environment has also undergone major changes for enterprises in this sector. If the local direct market is flat, then the answer for a number of enterprises has been to become regional, national and even international.

It is therefore essential to work on the development of the skills and competences of the leaders of tomorrow, to ensure that they are able to work in the European labour market of tomorrow. The development of “European” elements is essential for the training of the future employees and managers of tomorrow’s enterprises.

The main object of the project is to develop a network in order to strengthen and develop the networks, which exist at regional, national and European levels for the production of quality systems in the field of craft based industries.

At the heart of the process can be found the creation and development of a platform of expertise and the exchange of good practice with the following specific objectives

The REIM project will research and disseminate the results and thematic analysis of mobility projects already led by the project partners and members of their networks. The results of this analysis will allow the conception, development and dissemination of the following products.

  • A Database of “mobility within craft based industries”. Examples of “good practice”, structured on 5 themes:

    • a) mobility within training for young people

    • b) The administrative, legal and financial aspects of mobility

    • c) organisation and partnerships

    • d) information, marketing and communication

    • e) the links between mobility and national systems of training and social dialogue.

  • The development of a “quality charter” and the label “Europe Metiers”, which will can be used by promoters

  • A platform of expertise and exchange of good practice” Mobility for craft based industries” The creation and development of the platform of expertise will enable good communication to take place between the network and will serve as a structure for the development of recommendations for the promoters of mobility projects. It will also assist in the production of information about essential issues concerning mobility e.g. old mobility programmes, knowledge of networks and databases of transnational partners.

A platform will disseminate a “vademecum/ handbook” aimed at providing operational support to promoters and operators of mobility projects. It will provide general information about mobility, documents in several languages – conventions\agreements \individual contracts\documents to follow – support for the promotion of mobility for young people – training modules – preparation of debriefing – training for the promoters (aimed at local networks) information/support for those accompanying trainees\tutors\employers
