Careers Europe Mobility and Migration Event

To celebrate and promote the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, Careers Europe hosted an event focussing on Mobility and Migration in Europe in Leeds on the 1st October 2008.

The event was held in The Queens Hotel in Leeds and was a great success, thanks to the input from our guest speaker Mr. Richard Corbett MEP, EURES, Europass and the Gangmasters Licensing Authority, as well as all the delegates who attended.  If you would like to see copies of the presentations from the event please click here.


Guidance Exchange 2009

Careers Europe are once again organising the Guidance Exchange programme.  Guidance Exchange offers one week study visits to other European countries for Guidance counsellors from the UK.  The visits are funded by the European Commission.

IAEVG Conference 2009

The IAEVG annual international conference will be held at Jyväskylä, Finland, during 3-5 June, 2009.
The theme of the conference is "Coherence, Co-operation and Quality in Guidance and Counselling".
The Conference is organized by the University of Jyväskylä in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
The call for proposals is now open, and deadline for sending in proposals for sessions, workshops, posters, is 30 November 2008.

Euroguidance Newsletter

The Euroguidance network, of which Careers Europe is the United Kingdom representative, have produced the first issue of a new newsletter.  The newsletter will be published on a twice yearly basis with the next issue being published in April.  The Euroguidance newsletter can be viewed on the Euroguidance website.


New Eurozone Member

On the 1st January 2009 the Slovak Republic will join the Eurozone.  This will take the number of countries in the Eurozone to 16 countries.
