New Eurozone Members
In July 2007, EU leaders backed the European Commission and
voted to allow Cyprus and Malta to join the Eurozone on 1 January 2008. The
Cypriot Pound and Maltese Lira will be replaced by the Euro.
"I am happy that Cyprus and Malta will adopt the Euro bringing to 15 countries
and nearly 320 million the number of people who share the currency that has the
vocation to be, one day, the sole currency of the European Union", said Joaquín
Almunia, European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs.
ACADEMIA EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
We are pleased to announce that we are again able to offer
grants for UK Personal and\or Careers Advisers to attend one-week training
placements in Europe. This is as a result of a successful bid under the European
Commission funded LEONARDO programme. We will be providing further information
on our website by the end of October.
Love

Love Language is a LEONARDO project that is addressing how to
attract participation and increase motivation of young male language learners.
Further information can be found on the website

GIRC
We have a limited number of free handbooks which outline a model
for creating local/regional centres of expertise to support the work of the
Euroguidance network. This ‘GIRC’ (Guidance Innovation Relay Centres) project
aimed to bring people working at the forefront of guidance closer to those at
policy level with an emphasis on the European dimension. If you would like a
copy of the handbook please email us. |
