‘The Professionalisation of APEL (Accreditation of Prior Learning) practitioners.’

Date: September 10-11th 2007 (afternoon Monday and all day Tuesday)

Venue: New Parliament House Regent Road (side of Calton Hill) - Edinburgh

The final conference of the EuroguideVAL project will examine the provision of activities, education and educative devices for professionals working in the field of APEL (Accreditation of Prior Learning) and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), and the identification, recognition and assessment of non-formal and informal lifelong learning from a European perspective. It will involve those working (or potentially working) with information, advice and guidance on APEL, as well as towards the assessment and validation of lifelong informal and non-formal learning.

Key personalities involved in the professionalisation of practitioners active in the field of APEL and RPL throughout Europe will participate in this conference, having been invited by various partners involved in the project.

IAEVG Conference

The annual IAEVG conference will be held in Padova, Italy in the week commencing 3rd September this year.  The theme Guidance and Diversity will cover theoretical reflections, comparative issues, research models, and guidance practice on how to integrate and to handle diversity in educational and vocational guidance. Four main sub-topics: Realities of Diversity; Challenges for guidance practice; Challenges for employment systems; Diversity and new paradigms in guidance theory development, practice and training.
