Project News
Mol@m
The Molam project aims to improve the quality and
accessibility of information available to Europeans looking for work
in other European countries. In our role as European Guidance
Centre, Careers Europe is always looking to improve our already
comprehensive databases: EXODUS (for people leaving the UK to
work/study) and EISODUS (for people entering the UK). In-depth
research for the project is currently being carried out in the UK,
Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. We are
looking at what help and support is already out there, what it is
that careers advisors feel is currently lacking in this area as well
as the experiences of migrants themselves. Following the research
the partnership will work closely with careers advisors and other
experts to develop an interactive tool.
If you work in the field of careers guidance and you are interested
in our project or would like to share your views on the subject,
please contact Katie Peyton-Lister or for more information visit the
project website: www.spi.pt/molam
Advalue
The Advalue project will look at the development, assessment and validation of transferable skills in European vocational education. The project seeks to promote skills that may have been acquired outside work and training and which are transferable to the workplace. Such skills might be ‘problem solving’, ‘communication skills’, or ‘time management’. These skills are highly valued by employers but can often be difficult to develop and assess on vocational courses. Careers Europe is currently working with training providers in the Bradford region to find out about best practice in this area as well as looking at areas for improvement. If you are interested in this project or would like to get involved, please contact Katie Peyton-Lister.
