Keynote Speaker: Aled Williams

Aled Williams has worked for the last four years in adult careers service policy within what is now the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. He was involved in the IAG Review of Adult Careers Services, working with a wide range of partners. He is currently leading the Department's work on workforce development for the new adult advancement and careers service and is a member of the UK team on the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network. He has an interest in technology and communications.

Career Counselling Web (CCW)

This project aims to transfer expertise developed by Careers Wales to partners in Slovenia and Sweden. It is based on the award winning Careers Wales Online website. The project will adapt and develop Careers Wales' E-Portfolio system for use in the partner countries. Our partners from Careers Wales will share with you their E-Portfolio system and experience of the European project so far. www.ccw-eu.net

Europass

Europass is a European initiative to encourage mobility and lifelong learning among workers and learners in Europe. It is an electronic portfolio designed to help with transnational mobility. Representatives from Europass will introduce the Europass documents highlighting the advantages and benefits.

Guidance Exchange - Academia

Each year Careers Europe work in partnership with Euroguidance centres and other organisations across Europe to organise a number of placements for UK guidance counsellors in EU countries. We arrange the exchange for their European counterparts here in the UK. The project leader will be discussing the benefits and positive outcomes of the academia programme and introducing some previous Academia participants.

C-Xtra EU

This project aims to transfer an innovative, award-winning web-based questionnaire and toolkit, developed in the UK, to improve student retention rates in vocational education and training. CXL will introduce the project and any relevant outcomes which have been discovered since the commencement of  their work with their Austrian, Portuguese and Swedish partners.
