Q. Do I have the right to work in the UK?

A. EU/EEA nationals have the right to work in the UK. For citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA you must contact the British Embassy in your home country to apply for entry visas and work permits. Another source of information is the UK Visas website.

Q. Do I pay tax?

A. Reciprocal agreements exist with the UK and some countries for the purpose of paying tax. The Inland Revenue will provide detailed information regarding reciprocal agreements and tax issues.

Q. How do I know if my qualifications are recognised in the UK?

A. You should initially contact your professional organisation to check if they have any guidelines for comparing your qualifications. After that if you are an EU/EEA citizen you should contact the relevant National Reference Point (NRP) can help with the recognition of Professional and Vocational Qualifications. For citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA the UK NRP may be able to help you with the recognition of your vocational and/or professional qualifications.
